Neighborhood Explorers is a program offered to high school students through the Museum of the City of New York. This weekly after school program examines topics such as city planning, architecture and design, urban parks and open spaces, and more. Participants learn professional skills in architecture, planning, and design while devising creative solutions to address neighborhood issues and enrich the community. For the past three years Billie Cohen has been teaching students and putting their acquired skills into action on various neighborhood garden sites. Neighborhood Explorers is active December through May and culminates in a public display and presentation at the Museum of the City of New York showcasing student work.
